Operating Executives

We invest in great
businesses. We win
with great operators.

Capital alone does not transform a business. The executives who sit alongside management, drive operational improvement, and lead value creation are what separate good outcomes from exceptional ones. If that describes you, we want to talk.

What an operating
partner
actually does.

This is not a board advisory role. Operating executives at Venture Equities are embedded in portfolio companies, working directly with management teams to execute against a value creation plan. The engagement is real, the accountability is real, and the upside is real.

Pre-Close

Diligence & Deal Shaping

Operating executives engage before we close. You help us evaluate the business operationally, identify risks and opportunities that financial analysis misses, and shape the value creation thesis that we underwrite the deal around. Your industry knowledge is part of how we win deals.

Post-Close — Active Phase

Embedded Value Creation

Once we close, you are actively engaged with the portfolio company. That could mean serving as an interim functional leader, a direct advisor to the CEO, or a project lead on a specific initiative. The depth of engagement is calibrated to what the business needs and where your expertise adds the most value.

Throughout the Hold

Strategic Oversight

You participate in operating reviews, milestone tracking, and strategic decisions throughout the investment period. As a value creation driver, you have visibility into performance and a seat at the table on decisions that matter.

Compensation

Aligned Economics

We structure operating executive compensation around performance. That typically includes a combination of deal-by-deal carry, equity co-investment rights, and engagement fees where appropriate. You win when the deal wins. That is the only alignment structure we believe in.

The profile we
want to meet.

We are not looking for generalists or consultants. We are looking for operators who have been in the seat, have driven real outcomes, and know how to build enterprise value from the inside.

01

Proven Operating Track Record

You have held a senior leadership role, CEO, President, COO, or divisional GM, and you have the results to show for it. Revenue growth, margin expansion, successful exits, or turnarounds.

  • C-suite or senior leadership experience
  • Measurable EBITDA or revenue growth
  • Experience through a full investment cycle
  • Track record of building and retaining teams
02

Deep Sector Expertise

You know your industry from the inside. The relationships, the dynamics, the operational levers, and the buyer landscape. Your expertise makes our deals better and our portfolio companies more valuable.

  • Healthcare services or distribution
  • Logistics, trucking, or freight
  • Manufacturing or industrials
  • Consumer, retail, or e-commerce
03

Private Equity Fluency

You understand how PE-backed companies operate. You are comfortable with the cadence of operating reviews, value creation plans, and milestone-driven accountability. You do not need to learn what carry means.

  • PE or sponsor-backed company experience
  • Comfort with financial reporting and KPIs
  • Board-level communication skills
  • M&A or integration experience a plus
04

Builder Mentality

You are energized by building things, not managing things. You want to be in companies where the work matters and the outcome is directly tied to what you do every day.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset and bias for action
  • Comfortable in lean, resource-constrained environments
  • High ownership and accountability orientation
  • Long-term value focus over short-term optics
05

Network & Deal Access

Some of our best deal flow comes from operators who know their industry. If you have relationships with founders, business owners, or intermediaries in your sector, that is additive to what you bring to the partnership.

  • Founder and owner relationships
  • Industry association involvement
  • Intermediary and banker relationships
  • Ability to source proprietary deal flow
06

Aligned on Economics

You want to be compensated for results, not just effort. You are interested in equity upside and carry participation, not just a consulting retainer. You think like an owner because you want to be one.

  • Interested in carry and co-investment
  • Comfortable with performance-based structure
  • Long-term relationship orientation
  • Aligned on 3 to 7 year hold periods

The path from
introduction to
partnership.

We do not run a formal application process. We build relationships with operators over time and engage them on deals where there is genuine fit between their expertise and our portfolio company's needs.

Introduce Yourself
01

Initial Conversation

We start with a direct conversation about your background, sector expertise, and what you are looking for. No formal process, no lengthy questionnaire. We want to understand who you are and where you add the most value so we can match you to the right opportunities when they arise.

02

Relationship Building

We stay in active dialogue. As we evaluate deals in your sector, we may bring you in for an early read on the business, an introduction to management, or a diligence conversation. This is how we get to know how you think before we put you in a portfolio company.

03

Deal Engagement

When a deal is the right fit, we bring you in formally. We agree on the scope of your engagement, the economics, and the value creation priorities before we close. There are no surprises about what the role looks like or what you will earn if the investment performs.

04

Active Partnership

You are embedded. You work directly with the management team, participate in operating reviews, and drive the specific initiatives you own. At exit, your carry and co-investment participation reflects the value you helped create. That is the partnership we are building.
